Hey y’all

Just setting up a thread for reporting Gillard’s trail conditions.  As we all know, Gillard likes to go from awesome to disaster to awesome over night.  So let keep everyone posted on what’s happening.

Things I’d like to see reported in this thread:

Broken stunts

Drainage issues

Windfall

Vandalism

Illegal Dumping

Road condition

Conflicts with Dirtbikers, Paintballers, Hunters, Loggers, etc,

Amateur trail building

When posting a problem report, please be very descriptive of the location and problem.  As well,  I don’t want this to become a place to complain about things so if you are submitting a problem report, please follow it with a suggested solution.

Illegal dumping  - please report to:

eve-lyn.wolters@cord.bc.ca   Tel: 469-6346

Eve Wolters, Assistant Waste Reduction Coordinator

Central Okanagan Regional District

Please be descriptive, give a full detailed explanation of what has been dumped, how much, and the exact location. Describe the location in relation to the forest service road, how far up ? Are there any obvious landmarks nearby ?  Don't use bro MTB references like "it's uh like 20 yards from Big Stinky Green Gobbler Monster Mash" because the RDCO don't understand those terms.

Example:

"Dumped white goods, cooker, fridge and other large refuse, approx enough to fill one pickup, 30 yards off the forest service road, 100 yards on the left just after the main parking lot pull in. Look for an ATV trail and follow it 30 yards. Just wide enough to get a truck down. The parking lot pull in the parking area on the left 3km up the service road just where the road splits and there's a pull over on the left side of the road".

did a run down cats ass to fist first, cats ass is ridable the whole way down, just understand that at the moment it is a creek in some areas, we hit fists first, and while going down we stopped in various places to clear off the trail so it is rideable, but it is not a complete "trail" yet, so be cautious if you plan on riding it. Other then that, everything else we rode was mighty fun

Yes, I hoping when the Gillard trail day happens we can focus on Fists First along with Kerplop and Yo Moma.

Yo Mama has some nasty rain ruts up top after the first wood jump, the drop is down (so is the tree that was supporting it, haha), about 5 trees across the trail on the lower section, and look before hitting the last wood drop/ launch because there is a big up-rooted tree on the left of the run out like a foot away from the single track. It will be the end of you if you land a bit to the left of the trail.

Bearly There has a pretty god sized blowdown on it at the start. Three or four big trees in a pile.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Gillard Garbage Cleanup Day. It was a total success. So nice to drive up that road and not see all the redneck trash.

There's a new trail before Ghost Rider, look at the white bike, do a 180 degree, it's right there at the start of Ghost Rider.
