Knox Mountain Park is one of the most unique riding areas in the Okanagan — a multi-use network rising directly from the edge of downtown Kelowna. Just minutes from the city core, Knox offers an effortless escape into nature with rolling singletrack, panoramic viewpoints, and quick-access laps perfect for riders of all levels.

Trail Experience

Knox delivers a mix of flowy beginner-friendly trails, classic singletrack traverses, and short, punchy climbs that reward you with sweeping views over Okanagan Lake and the city. It’s a go-to for after-work spins, low-commitment laps, and introducing riders to mountain biking in a welcoming, easy-access environment.

Because Knox is multi-use, riders should expect high foot traffic — especially on weekends and holidays — and be prepared to slow down, ride with care, and share the trail responsibly.

Access & Location

Knox Mountain Park sits north of downtown Kelowna at the end of Ellis Street. Multiple access points, parking areas, and viewpoint turnoffs make it one of the most accessible riding zones in the region. No shuttle required — simply pedal from town, and you’re on the trails within minutes.

Trail Care & Community

Since 2011, MTBCO has worked closely with the City of Kelowna to support the development and maintenance of mountain bike trails on Knox. It’s one of the region’s only municipal parks with designated downhill trails alongside a mix of multi-use and hiking routes. Because of the park’s popularity, ongoing maintenance, rider education, and respectful trail use are essential to keeping this network fun, safe, and sustainable for everyone.

Ongoing Collaboration

Our partnership with the City ensures mountain bikers have a voice in stewardship decisions. MTBCO provides regular input on trail planning and improvements, and we host community trail maintenance days to help keep this unique urban riding area in great shape.
